  • Developed sustainability and resiliency framework plan to inform master planning efforts of the San Francisco Zoo with a focus on ecological restoration, climate vulnerability and green infrastructure as the site is adjacent to the ocean

  • Created emergency protocols and engaged diverse personnel at the Hawaii Department of Education by giving presentations, facilitating workshops and initiating trainings to successfully develop a state-level Emergency Operations Plan and 15 regional level Continuity of Operations Plans while regularly managing client communication

  • Utilized knowledge of climate adaption/mitigation strategies, gathered temperature projection data in ArcGIS, and manipulated large data sets of school classroom temperatures to inform Hawaii public schools’ sustainability plans and creation of an equitable, data driven method for heat abatement improvements

  • Managed team of interns to create a tool that provides data on the health of a space utilizing our air and environmental quality sensor technology along with website and supporting graphics

  • Developed adaptation actions and incorporated them into the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan by researching and adding strategies to address the effects of sea level rise on critical shoreline infrastructure, wildfires and heat waves on vulnerable frontline communities using ArcGIS

  • Completed analysis and developed technical report of solar potential and resiliency benefits of buildings in Berkeley to inform the design and feasibility analysis of proposed micro-grid project in downtown area

  • Developed report on green building rating systems and local energy codes in California, which informed the city’s adoption of local reach code, municipal building requirements and purchasing policy - supported the development of an energy code being the country’s first city to ban natural gas hook-ups in new buildings

  • Managed phase-in of buildings over 50,000 square feet into City’s Building Energy Saving Ordinance by maintaining database with custom macro and determined initial impact on City’s GHG inventories; developed energy benchmarking instructional documents, engaged members of the public and project partners leading to significant compliance in first few months of ordinance

  • Evaluated and recommended potential biomass technology, developed funding strategy and grant proposals to secure project funding, and oversaw implementation of 3 megawatt biomass plant, forest thinning and prescribed burning efforts to increase local resiliency from threat of wildfires fueled by climate change

  • Developed and completed project proposal and pro-forma model by analyzing data from local foresters, county administration and economists, which was used to secure $20 million investment

  • Engaged and collaborated with diverse community members with meetings and educational materials to inform surrounding community of project goals and effects of climate change on the community

  • Researched and synthesized data from an avoided cost analysis and wildfire vulnerability maps to demonstrate how nature-based solutions could decrease potential risk to vulnerable infrastructure

  • Provided technical assistance to county officials by completing technical reports and providing information on air pollution control and environmental compliance resulting in the project’s approval
